Funerals

The Funeral Service

The chapel is situated at the far end of the driveway. There is a glass canopy over the entrance to the chapel where people can stand to await the funeral cortege and a waiting area inside the main entrance doors.

Our chapel has seating for approximately 80 people, and there is standing room inside and outside the chapel in the foyer. Please let us know in advance if you are expecting a large attendance and we will turn on speakers to relay the service outside the chapel.  There is also a hearing loop system installed in the chapel.

As our chapel is non-denominational it can therefore be used for a service that is personalised for your loved one.  Your funeral director will be able to advise you on different types of services and a suitable person to take the service for you, if required.

We use a media system called Wesley to provide music for the chapel.  There is a vast library of all types of music available and your funeral director can assist you with your selection.  If you cannot find the piece you require, or if you wish to use a recording of a family member singing or playing instruments, these can also be uploaded to Wesley for inclusion in your service playlist.

We offer live streaming (webcasts) of services and have screens in chapel should you wish to have a visual tribute (pictures or videos) displayed during the service.  You can also have a recording of the service to keep and share with others.  The prices for these services are available through your funeral director or can be found here on our website.

There is also an organ available in the chapel and your funeral director can provide details for local organists you can hire to play at the service if you wish to use this.

We have a wheelchair available for use if needed – please ask the attendant on duty.

Floral tributes from the service will be displayed, with a name card for the deceased in a stand, on the flower court immediately after the service.  All tributes will be moved the next morning to our cloister walkway, where they will remain for a further 6 days before being removed for recycling or disposal.
